Volunteers Needed
The following tasks need volunteers - some needing little previous knowledge, some needing image or web experience, and some involving taking a project lead position.

When a position says it requires "comfort with image editing"
Many people sending us images are not comfortable with how to work with them. For the most part, images sent in for jury applications should not have to be edited, except to size them to our purposes. Images sent for tutorials often have to be edited, to create the best possible product for our web site.

Comfort with image editing includes these frequently needed items -
cropping very large images with tiny things in the center and a lot of vacant space, to eliminate the vacant space and just leave the item of interest; adjusting the light and dark levels; adjust sharpness; and using EZ Thumbnails or equivalent program to decrease the size of the image.

When a position says it requires "comfort with basic HTML"
All CityMax editing is done in basic HTML - about the same level of HTML knowledge as is required to create spiffy eBay auctions. Most all work is just copying existing information and adjusting it for the new information.

In addition to experience with image editing and basic html, most of the web editor positions have documented procedures, so we all perform the task in the same manner. If you are interested in volunteering for a position and would like to see the associated procedures, please let us know and we can email them to you.

Articles!! We Need Articles!!
Everyone! If each person would write one article for us - about running a business, about jewelry materials, etc - there are so many aspects of running a small business that could be explored - our library would become a real tool that we would all find extremely useful. And, of course, tutorials for techniques and/or projects are always welcome also. THANKS!!

Maintenance Mode:
The following volunteer positions are for things that are up and running with documented procedures. The volunteer just needs to keep things up-to-date. Most do not require a large time commitment - but do require a dedicated effort to check things on a regular basis.

RESOURCES & LINKS
Everyone! Take a couple minutes to review your bookmarks against our list of resources and links. Send us an email with information we should add to our list. THANKS!!

We also need people to periodically review pages with links to verify that they are all still working. You don't have to fix the bad ones you find - just have to tell us which they are so we can fix them. Ideally, all links would be reviewed at least twice per year to verify they are all working. Each volunteer can select the link pages they want to be responsible for checking, on a first come, first served basis. We'll develop a more detailed list of pages and volunteers monitoring them as we move forward. The following are listed as a general starting point -
Eye Candy Pages - OPEN
Juried Artist Direct Pages - OPEN
Juried Gallery Pages - OPEN
Main Web Site Pages - OPEN
Education Library - OPEN

Membership Records / Accounting Informtion - Sue Espy

Emails applicant to let them know the posting is up.

JAD Editor - Sue Espy

Project Mode:
The following volunteer positions are for things that need to be created. Once up and running, we can get another volunteer to continue on with maintenance - or the originator can continue to keep it going - their choice. We need people that can give a large amount of time to the start up phase and who are comfortable working in unknown areas. All efforts need to stay coordinated with the guild - so that the end result is something the directors/officers are supportive of. Many efforts will require polls of the membership. This is a frustrating area - but projects that will push the guild forward.
